Looking forward to an exciting new semester!

So I've got some updates for everyone! I just got a new calling in my ward, 2nd counselor in the Relief Society. I'm SO excited, the girls I work with are such inspiring people and I love them to pieces already. We went and saw the Joseph Smith movie last night and it was so much fun. It is looking to be a great new semester. At the moment I'm feeling a little guilty about not being extremely busy during finals week. I've got friends all stressed out because of their tests and assignments but mine have been pretty chill! Tonight we went to "Da Pineapple Grill" and had some dinner, just FYI I've decided there is no point in ordering lettuce wraps anywhere else but P.F. Changs! We went for my roomate Sam's birthday.

All my roommates are moving out except for my room roommate, Ali. I just love her, she's so sweet and we've gotten to be pretty good friends so I'm looking forward to it. We share the same disease I like to call chit chatter, sometimes when she comes home late, and I'm not asleep, she'll just start talking and it won't end until 1 or 2 in the morning! It's rough, cause I need sleep, but it's still fun to talk to her! Hopefully I'll get in the habit of going to bed earlier since I'm looking at a tougher semester academically, I'm taking my Literacy 2 class, Geography, Art methods (basically how to teach art to elementary students), Math 110 yucky, and Spanish 101. Exciting but stressful, I'm definitely going to need a tutor for my math class, probably for Spanish and probably for Literacy. I'm coming home for Christmas on Friday for like 3 weeks, which is always exciting! So I'll see you guys soon!

How I love to teach!!!

Okay, let's be honest here. Teaching is SO HARD! There is so much of everything to do! I've been talking to a few girls in some of my classes and they've been complaining about how busy they are and how hard everything is. I totally agree with them, but the difference with the way I feel about it is I just love it! I will admit when you're taking a bunch of classes and all you get to interact with is professors and fellow college aged women you get stuck in the paper-work of it all. But when you actually get to apply everything you've learned, and all of that paper-work mumbo jumbo, and interact with the children its SO WORTH IT!
For those of you who don't know I'm working in a Kindergarten classroom on Wednesdays and Fridays for one of my classes. I just love these kids. They are so cute! I could talk about each one of them for hours! I have one student, his name is David, he has a hard time with his letters and the sounds they make. It's so hard struggling with him, and yet its so rewarding to firgure out ways to help him understand. There's another student who has a hard time concentrating, he's pretty much all over the place, and a little dosy (as my mother would say). Today I tested him on his letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. He passed with flying colors and I was so proud of him. He sounded out the letters in the words and did such a good job! HOW REWARDING! My favorite student (I know I can't play favorites yadda yadda) his name is Schylar. On the first day of class he wouldn't say a word to me. Finally after a few days of making sure I waved hello everyday and made silly faces at him as much as possible just letting him be shy, he said a few words to me! SUCESS! But today was the best! He saw me walking down the hall and a huge grin spread across his cute little face and I waved and told him how happy I was to see him and to see him smiling at me! I have no idea what his home life is like, or why he doesn't like, recess, or why he won't interact very well with the other kids, but I can't tell you how joyous it was to see him happy to see me!
I'm sure people are going to get bored with my blog because I write so much, but...I have a lot to say!
I am just amazed at the mercy of our Heavenly Father. Due to recent events in my life I am more convinced now than ever before that He knows us each personally. He knows our strengths, weaknesses, joys, pains, quirks, desires, and every small detail about who we are now and who we will become. I am so happy to say my Father in Heaven knows me better than I even know myself. If it weren't for this fact I would be headed on who knows what kind of path of fake happiness! I look back and see where I have messed up, where I have succeeded, and most importantly where I have grown. I am so happy whrere I am in life, despite my many imperfections.

I must be going through some sort of life crisis...

So last weekend my sweet friend of 9 years, Spencer, came to visit and we randomly decided to dye my hair. Then after we dyed it I had a strange craving to chop it off, just to see if I would like short hair. Now as some of you may know I cut my hair this summer and it was pretty short but not real short. Well due to the fact that I had nothing to loose, and no one to worry about but myself I decided this Saturday I would get my hair cut. So I went to the beauty school and told them I wanted an A-line cut. They used fancy words on me like stacked and triangle layers and I was very clueless so I just said sure to everything they suggested. I did manage to say I didn't want it "stacked" too short, but I had no idea what was in store. As the girl was chopping off my "one beauty" (if you love Little Women like I do you'll know what that means) I thought, you look an awful lot like the Beatles, and chalked it up to the newness of it all. After she dried and styled it I thought, hmmm this is different but way cute! Then the more I played with it the more I realized it was on my head! And the more I realized, this is DANG SHORT!!! I figured heck, it's hair, it grows back and at least you got the idea out of your system! My hair does grow back pretty fast so I wasn't worried about it. I went to sleep that night and woke up the next morning, looked in the mirror, and realized it hadn't grown at all! I'm going to have to WAIT for it to go back to normal! AHHHHHHHHH! It made me nauseous to think about how short it was. In my mind the cut was a lot longer than in reality and the harsh truth of the mirror reminded me that I am now suffering from an uncomfortable hair cut! What is an uncomfortable hair cut you ask? Well it's not a bad hair cut, and it's not a hair cut you love; it's more in the middle. The cut is really cute, I'm just so uncomfortable with it! Everyone else loves it! And I'm sure if it wasn't my head I would love it too, but I have to live with it and I'm not so thrilled. I'm trying to be brave and good about it, realizing this was my stupid decision in the first place. This morning as I got ready I counted my blessings, hoping that past-time would outweigh my hair blues. I thought, hey at least you have hair! But the more I would dwell on what I had besides my haircut the more I was reminded I had done it in the first place. I don't want any of you to worry about me and my hair because it will grow back and I now know I will never do it again! It's just life and I'm in the mood to live it!
Oh and I learned how to knit! I love it, despite my cramped hands! So that's what is going on with me at this moment in my life! But due to my renewed spirit and love for life I have decided you only have one chance to live each day, so live it the very best you can! I'm so happy its hard for me to be upset about my hair or much else! I am a daughter of God and He loves me!!!!!! What a miracle! It's hard to believe with my head of hair but He does and I know it! How blessed I am to know such a truth! I love my Savior and I am trying so hard to be the very best I can, raising the bar a little at a time! I love my family and my friends so much! I'm so excited to get to see some of you over Thanksgiving break! And for those of you who don't know I'm off for a whole week this year! November 17th to the 28th! Plus, and I hope I don't jinx anything, but for the first time in the 3 years I've been here there isn't snow on the ground before Thanksgiving! How crazy is that! WOOT! Anyway I've typed a novel! I like this blog thing! I love you all! Have a wonderful week! Call me if you wish!

My previous attempt at blogging...

So I realized I have already attempted writing a blog. I thought everyone might care what I was doing in Idaho so right before I left for my first year in college I began a blog. And I have one posting on that blog. Here it is...

Before the Departure!!

Well, Hello everyone! I don't know how many of you are actually going to stay up to date on this thing; in fact I don't know how up to date I'm going to be able to keep it! But, I'm planning on it just for the sake that it's easier than writing a million different emails! I will keep in touch though! You can write me an email and I will definately write you back!
I wanted to tell you what was going on before I leave. I'm trying to get everything together. I need a bunch of boxes and I heard you can get Smith's boxes at like four in the morning, but I don't know how dilligent I am in doing that?! YIKES!
I need to buy a whole bunch of winter stuff! My big search is for Flanel Sheets! They're all I ask for, Really! It's so cold in Idaho in the winter and I refuse to freeze! I have my plug-in blanket and heater, both of which will accompany me on my journey to the unknown!
I'm kind of nervous! I totally feel like a freshman! I have no idea what to expect! I wish I did, I would probably feel better about it! I keep thinking something is going to happen last minute and prove I did something wrong, and I won't be able to go to school!!
I wouldn't be suprised if that's what my mom is praying for though! It's going to be hard for me to leave! I have so many important people here!
I'm trying to deal with my new life as an adult. Two jobs, car troubles, and lots of change! People are predicting my "pending" wedding date! I don't know how I feel about that! It's weird to think I could be married within 5 years! Like my mom said you spend how many billions of years without your spouse in the pre-existence, then this short time here without them and then the rest of eternity with them! I just hope I find someone who I want to spend all that time with! Weird! I wish I didn't have to think about it!
So this special blog is what I'm going to be updating! I will let you know what's going on as soon as I can!
Later Gator~

And here is my description of myself back in the day :)

Well Jon Davis and I were actually discussing this a little while ago. We've decided I'm pretty quirky. I love Frank Sinatra, and I have a strange obsession with teeth and the dentist. I want to be a Dental Hygenist, but I hate needles, and I'm afraid to get my wisdom teeth out! My car's name is Rex Quan Do, he's a blue '87 toyota camry. I love telling jokes! I figure if you don't have anything better to say tell a joke! Everyone likes a good joke! I'm the oldest of 4. I have two younger brothers Jesse,15, Cooper, 9 and one little sister Megan, 11. I'm going to BYU-Idaho at the end of August to get my generals and pre-requisites done. I'm nervous and excited.

Pretty funny huh!? I'm hoping this attempt goes better than the last!

This is my Mom's fault...

So this blog is completely my Mother's fault. Maybe my Aunt's as well...I can't decide if I should blame her yet or not. I'm online looking for my Mom's lost blog and I "accidentaly" created my own. I don't know if anyone will feel like reading this, but heck, it helps for those who do want to read it! I don't have much time to post anything right now, since I'm at work and I've got a few things to get done. I'll write later.
